About Exercise Science
Exercise science is an action packed degree that includes advancing knowledge around human body movement, physiology, along with nutrition and fitness. It consists of courses that relates exercise to science, mathematics, and physics.
Why Exercise Science?
I chose exercise science for many reasons. The first one being that fitness has always been my passion. Ever since I was a kid, I loved playing sports and exercising. I specifically enjoyed observing the results of my exercise. I wanted to learn more about the reasons why and how physical activity and exercise impacted the body. I also wanted to be able to make an impact on other people's lives and teach them ways to help themselves and their overall health.
Career Goals and Interests
Physical Therapy
My ultimate goal after getting my undergraduate degree is to go on to Physical Therapy School. I've always been intrigued about learning the inside and out of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the human body. I would love to teach and help people improve their conditions and watch them progress over time to reach their long-term health goals.
Looking back into my own life, I had to go through a lot of physical therapy for sport-related injuries. I hated going through it, but it was the only way my body would be able to return to its normal functioning capacity. My experience going through physical therapy made me respect and admire the physical therapists that coached me. It ultimately made me want to be like them and to have their knowledge about the functioning human body and everything else it entails.
